Seychelles is a picture-perfect destination that many desire to travel to. The beaches here feel like they have been intricately carved by the creator, making them an unforgettable sight. Seychelles is an archipelago that comprises 115 islands that are surrounded by the Indian Ocean off East Africa.

Among the beautiful beaches present around the world, Seychelles has tough competition and usually tops people’s preferences.

Seychelles is a perfect tropical vacation spot

Powdery, soft white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters fill the gorgeous and scenic beaches in the Seychelles. Towering palm trees and big rocky boulders back the shorelines. The lush forests and flourishing hills make this place seem like paradise on Earth.

Seychelles’ rich underwater diversity and abundance of sea turtles make this an exciting place to visit. Whether you want to relax or experience something out of the ordinary, the beaches of the Seychelles are ideal.

In recent years, several luxurious resorts have opened their doors to add to your everlasting comfort. With so many beaches to visit, it is hard to choose just one.

Here are the best beaches in Seychelles that should go straight onto your travel list:

1. Petite Anse, Mahe Island

Located on Mahe’s island’s west coast, Petite Anse is one of the most beautiful beaches in Seychelles. It has soft white sand and pristine waters, and it remains isolated. As it stands on the main island of the Seychelles, it has a dense forest and two giant granite cliffs.

The beach offers perfect weather conditions due to its steep inclines. Here, swimming and snorkelling are ideal activities. You also experience the hypnotising views of the lush peaks in Mahe.

2. Anse Source d’Argent, La Digue

Anse Source d’Argent on La Digue Island is one of the most photographed beaches. Featured in several films, advertisements, and campaigns, it is the embodiment of a dream vacation. Huge granite boulders dot the beach, while reefs provide shelter, giving it an appearance of calmness and shallowness.

The beach’s popularity is due to the palm-shaded huts as well as the local stands that sell refreshing drinks. If you want to get away from crowds, the area further south of Anse Source dArgent is quiet but just as beautiful.

The aquamarine water at this beach is extremely clear and requires no mask or snorkel to view fish. The only way to access the beach is by paying an entrance fee to the privately owned plantation, LUnion Estate.

3. Anse Georgette, Praslin

Anse Georgette is a magnificent beach and is situated on the grounds of the affluent Constance Lemuria, although it is open to the public. Surrounded by the beauty of Praslin Island, the beach is known to offer a quiet gateway to the Seychelles.

It is recommended to visit the beach while residing at the Constance Lemuria Resort. This resort limits non-guests access to the beach. Thus, getting to the beach by the resort’s golf cart transfers becomes easier. You can also access it yourself by taking a short 30-minute walk.

If you are not a guest, it is better to inform the resort so that they can reserve the beach visit for you.

Once you arrive, Anse Georgette offers impeccable views of the bay and unblemished ocean. Although the strong currents are not safe for swimming, you can still enjoy snorkelling and the lush tropical foliage of the beach.

4. Beau Vallon, Mahe Island

Beau Vallon is one of the largest beaches in the Seychelles. It is surrounded by a magnificent stretch of soft sand and droopy palm trees. The clear waters of this beach on the north-western coast of Mahe Island have a safe swimming area.

With various water sports available, Beau Vallon allows for energetic activities other than sunbathing. One of the aspects that make this beach popular and different from others is the number of hotels and restaurants lined up. Although the beach is commercialised, the crowds are kept at bay.

Beau Vallon is famous among families, and kids can freely swim around as there are no strong currents, rocks, or corals underfoot. Other beach activities like parasailing, paddleboarding, and even banana boating can be enjoyed.

5. Anse La Passe, Silhouette Island

Anse La Passe is a remarkable beach and the third largest in the Seychelles. It is part of the luxurious all-villa Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort.

The white sands of Anse La Passe

This beach is ideal for a quiet vacation, as Silhouette Island is home to only 100 people. The ocean surrounding the beach is a protected marine park and boasts a thriving aquatic life. Just 200 metres further lies a vibrant coral reef for you to explore.

As Anse La Passe is located close to the resort, several exciting activities can be undertaken. Biking, sailing, fishing, and snorkelling are a few to name. You can hop on bike rides and hike through the Anse Mondon trail, which has the rare Coco de Mer palm trees.

6. Anse Intendance, Mahe Islands

Anse Intendnace is known for its azure waters, huge boulders, and tropically lush forests, located at the far south of Mahe Islands. This beach has half a mile of the whitest sand you can ever come across.

Greenery surrounding Anse Intendance

The only thing Anse Intendance lacks is a coral reef. However, no reef results in excellent surfing. The waves here are much larger than on other beaches in the Seychelles. Moreover, the rough currents and tides attract surfers rather than swimmers.

During the southeast trade winds, waves climb to an enormous height but remain calm in the northwest trade winds. This secluded beach is perfect for sunbathing and experiencing genuine relaxation.

The Seychelles is a beautiful beach destination that has a lot to offer. From quiet to lively beaches, it is hard not to fall for its jaw-dropping landscapes. You are bound to enjoy a luxurious and surreal experience the moment you set foot on the soft sands. Making it a perfect place for beach hopping, the six listed beaches cannot be overlooked.
