India is a land of festivals, and very colorful and pompous ones at that! Each festival has its own traditions, rituals and kaleidoscope of colors. Holi is the festival of colors, while Diwali is the festival of lights, then there are organised fairs like the Puskar fair which has colorful dance and dress competition, then the hornbill fair which has tribal dances and warfare display, then the Hemis festival which has various ladakhi traditions on display. It is strongly recommended to time your India visit with one or more of the festivals, what you will experience will remain etched in your memory for the rest of your life.
