ITINERARY - 7 Days

Day 1

The magical trip starts at Cochin

Cochin is the first destination on the list of Kerala tour packages, and your arrival at the Cochin International Airport, located in one of the most popular cities in the state, marks the start of your trip.

The one Cochin sight that will stay with you even after you leave Kerala is the dip of the Chinese fishing boats into the tumultuous seas at high tide around the headland of Fort Cochin.

In the evening, an awe-inspiring Kathakali performance, one of the most celebrated cultural shows in Kerala, will keep you engaged. Then, there is the exhilarating Kalaripayattu, where the sounds of the swords cutting into the air and hitting the shield can be deafening but thrilling to your senses.

Day 2

Journeying to the evergreen Munnar

After breakfast, it’s time to get moving to Munnar, which was once the summer resort of the British Government but is a popular resort town these days. At the confluence of Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala stands Munnar, with its picture-book towns, winding paths, and tea plantations adding to its glory. Here you will come across the highest peak in South India, Anamudi, towering over 2695 meters, the perfect site for trekking.

Day 3

Navigating the winding paths of Munnar

Everything about Munnar is fascinating, and Anayirangal (Elephant Lake) is one attraction that lures visitors and keeps them busy for hours. The dam and reservoir complement the scenic beauty, making it an ideal picnic spot. So, don’t forget to carry your picnic hamper!

Also, you will get some wonderful snaps, with the perfect background to boot. The evergreen forests and the clear skyline will tickle the nature lover in you, and the aromatic scents of tea plantations at Tata Tea Museum will make you hesitant to leave.

Day 4

Goodbye Munnar... Hi Thekkady

It’s time to bid adieu to the enchantment of Munnar, but there is no need to be downcast, for the next trip on Kerala tour packages is to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary at Thekkady. As you move along the rolling hills, the intense scents wafting from the coffee plantations will rouse you from your slumber and get you excited for the rest of the trip. At the heart of the sanctuary, the wild boars, elephants, ibex, and long-tailed monkeys are in their element. You will occasionally hear a bird calling out to its mate, and you might even recognize a hornbill, heron, kite, kingfisher, or darter.

After the treasure hunt at the spice plantations surrounding the reserve, a refreshing ride on Periyar Lake would start to beckon.

Day 5

Exploring Thekkady and its spice plantations

Periyar has one of the major spice plantations in Kerala. Lucky you, you’ll come across a variety of spices, namely pepper, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, ginger, curry leaves, and turmeric, their scents staying with you even after you retire for lunch at the plantation.

Your day gets even better—it’s time to make friends with elephants! The Periyar National Park under Kerala tour packages offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buddy up with elephants! You can feed them bananas, go on a walk around the plantations, and even bathe them!

Day 6

The magnificent Alleppey Backwater Cruise

A day full of leisure and peace awaits you on one of the traditionally styled thatched houseboats, on which you will cruise along the backwaters of Alleppey. The houseboat chef gets your meals ready while you take in the glorious sights and breathe in the fresh, sweet-smelling air of Alleppey. You will find modern comforts on the houseboat, and it’s a great way to spend time with your co-traveler, enjoying nature and feeling the cool breeze on your face.

Day 7

Back to Cochin

It’s time to leave the backwaters and go back to Cochin, the first and last location on the list of Kerala tour packages. The last day of the trip would be limited to light exploration along the Old Cochin area, which was once home to the Jewish community. Their Paradesi Synagogue is an architectural masterpiece, and you will easily note the touch of tradition in the interiors of the synagogue.

Next, we will visit Vasco da Gama Square, the place that offers the best view of the Chinese fishing nets trapping fish. The tour comes to an end with a trip to some of the historical landmarks of Cochin.

Every traveler after a visit to Kerala comes back as a changed person, with eyes full of cheer and optimism and a spring in their step. Kerala does that! After all, it’s “God’s Own Country!”
