Day 1 |
Arrive at Paro and Drive to ThimphuAfter having a spectacular flight with the most stunning views, you will arrive at Paro International Airport. Your tour representative will welcome you and will guide you through a two-hour drive to Thimphu. The relaxing ride will take you through elegant rice terraced fields located alongside the Pho Chu and WangChu rivers. In the afternoon, you will see the biggest statue of Buddha in Kuensel Phodrang. Later in the evening, you will end your day in Thimphu by visiting the Memorial Chorten that was built in the memory of Bhutan's third king. |
Day 2 |
Local Sightseeing around ThimphuAfter breakfast, you will visit the Institute of Traditional Medicines & Folk Heritage Museum. Later in the afternoon, you will visit the National Institute of Zorig Chusum (13 traditional crafts), and you will also see the King's throne and government offices in Tashichho Dzong. You can stroll through the Thimphu town and shop in the crafts bazaar offered by Bhutan tourism in the evening. |
Day 3 |
Drive from Thimphu to Phobjikha (Gangtey)Your third day's morning visit will involve seeing the Takin, the Takin, the National Animal of Bhutan at the Motithang Takin Preserve. Then, you will drive to Sangaygang to get a view of the spectacular Thimphu valley. After gazing at the Thimphu valley, you will continue the drive to Phobjikha through the Dochula pass, from where you can have a clear view of Gasa Dzong and the Himalayas. Our tour guide will take you through the 108 stupas at Druk Wangyal Chortens. After reaching Phobjikha, you can relax in the warmth of the Bukhari at your hotel. |
Day 4 |
Drive from Phobjikha to PunakhaIn the morning, you will wander around the winter homes of the black-necked cranes in the beautiful Phobjikha valley. After exploring the Phobjikha valley, you will begin your drive to Punakha in the afternoon. Upon reaching Punakha, you can relax in the tender, peaceful, and green valley. Your evening will be at leisure. |
Day 5 |
Punakha's Local SightseeingAfter having breakfast, you will drive to the Chazam valley, where you will walk through the rice fields and hike uphill to Khamsum Yulley Lhakhang. You will visit the monastery at Khamsum Yulley Lhakhang and can have a small picnic amidst the beautiful landscapes. In the afternoon, you will return to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong, the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan over the Phochu river. |
Day 6 |
Drive from Punakha to ParoIn the morning, you shall have your breakfast at the hotel, and then you shall begin our exploration by visiting Chimi Lhakhang with our tour guide. The Chimi Lhakhang is a 15th-century temple built on a hillock upon the beautiful rice fields, villages, and Punatsangchhu river. Later, you will begin your drive towards Paro and take a halt at the Tamchog Lhakhang temple. After reaching Paro, you can relax for the rest of the day. |
Day 7 |
Explore the beauty of ParoAfter a relaxed morning, you shall begin your day by visiting Ta Dzong (National Museum), a traditional wooden cantilever bridge, and Paro Rinpung Dzong. Other places of sightseeing would include Kichu Lhakhang (one of the oldest temples in Bhutan) and Drugyel Dzong (a ruined fortress). After seeing these places, you are free to stroll around the Paro town. |
Day 8 |
Hike to the Taktsang MonasteryAfter having a filling breakfast, our tour guide shall drive you to Ramthongka, where you will hike uphill for three hours to see the beautiful Taktsang monastery or Tiger's Nest Bhutan. You can see the monastery and experience its sacredness amongst the monks. After coming back in the evening, you will have a unique hot stone bath to relieve all the pain from the hike. Later, you will eat a traditional Bhutanese dinner in an ancient Bhutanese house. |
Day 9 |
DepartureYour tour representative will conclude your pleasant trip by driving you to Paro International airport. Take happiness to your home! After spending nine spectacular days in this spiritual country, you will experience peace and happiness for the rest of your life. Since the happiness tour focuses on exploring happiness in Bhutan, your visit to the local shrines, villages, and fortresses and spending time with the locals will help you experience and share happiness.
