This 8-day adventure will reveal the true wilderness of Rwanda. Face the primates one day, head off to the savannahs, face wildlife encounters on this trip! You are likely to see the African Big 5, along with the most coveted wildlife of Rwanda – the Chimpanzee and the Mountain Gorilla.
Day 1 |
Arrive Kigali - Akagera National Park Our representative will meet you upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport. You are then transferred to the Akagera National Park. Post lunch, buckle up to experience your first game drive. Have a chance to spot African Wildlife such as buffalo, elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, and many antelopes. Return to your camp and rest for the evening. |
Day 2 |
Akagera National Park After your scrumptious breakfast, head off for your first game drive. The Akagera National Park was established in 1934 and is reduced in size. The Akagera National Park has increased the population of wildlife animals, boasts around 900 square kilometers of lakes and savannahs. The park got its name from the Kagera River that runs along its eastern boundary before entering into Lake Ihema. 30% of the park is made of lakes that are interconnected with papyrus swamps which together form the wetlands of Africa. Enjoy the boat ride in search of hippos, and birdlife. |
Day 3 |
Akagera National park-Volcanoes National Park Post breakfast, you will be transferred from the Akagera National Park to the Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival, you will check-in, have lunch and rest for the day. Go for a short walk in the afternoon to enjoy the breeze. Overnight at the lodge. |
Day 4 |
Volcanoes National Park After an early breakfast, travel a short distance to the Volcanoes National Park HQ for your first gorilla tours Rwanda experience. For your gorilla tours Rwanda depending upon the location you will be assigned a family group. It may take hours for you to reach the gorillas, the ascent in altitude through the dense vegetation helps you discover the apes, and spend an hour in their presence. Then visit the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project in Musanze after leaving the gorillas for grooming and foraging. They are also known as Gorilla Doctors. These centers care for injured and orphaned gorillas found in the wild or that residents in the Senkwekwe Centre in the DRC’s Virunga National Park. Overnight at the lodge. |
Day 5 |
Volcanoes National Park-Nyungwe National Park Spend your morning at leisure. Thereafter you will be transferred to the Nyungwe National Park. located on the southwestern border of Rwanda, this park is famous for African great lakes, Lake Kivu that stretches out to the west. Opt for an accommodation at a lodge on the edge of the park within the tea plantation. Overnight at the lodge. |
Day 6 |
Nyungwe National Park Pack your breakfast to experience day 6 of your Rwanda tourism to set off to the Cyamudongo Forest. Experience the third primate excursion with chimpanzees. Chimpanzees have marked differences when compared to gorillas. In the afternoon, enjoy your trip across the 250 feet high canopy walkway, witness the amazing view of the sea below you. Overnight at the lodge. |
Day 7 |
Nyungwe National Park-Depart Kigali Post breakfast, you will be transferred to the capital of Rwanda, Kigali based on your departure timings. Connect with your international flight home or towards your next destination. Your Rwanda tourism safari has come to an end. Make sure to take back many memories with you. |
