Day 2 |
Delhi half day sightseeing tour Spend the morning at leisure and enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel whilst admiring the picturesque architecture of the hotel. Day 3 |
Delhi half day sightseeing tour Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast at the hotel and proceed for sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. Day 4 |
Delhi-Agra (by road 200 km in 03 hrs) The second place on the itinerary for the golden triangle tour with Oberoi Hotels in Agra. After a soothing breakfast, it is time for some spa therapy. Day 5 |
Agra After having breakfast at the hotel, proceed for the sightseeing tour of Agra. Visit the Agra Fort, built by Akbar in 1565 AD. The massive red sandstone structure looks across the river at the Taj Mahal. Emperor Shah Jahan spent his last days in this fort and was incarcerated by his son Aurangazeb. Also, visit the famous Itmad-ud-Ullah. It was commissioned by Nur Jehan, the wife of Emperor Jahangir, in memory of her father Mirza Ghiyas Baig. Enjoy a delicious lunch and then proceed for a heritage walk to the other side of the river Yamuna. Walkthrough the various historical monuments of Mughal Agra that are set amidst a rural setting. Following are some of the main attractions of the tour: Gyarah Sidi (Eleven Steps): One of the lesser monuments of this region, it is the starting point of the heritage walk. Humayun, the eldest son of Babar, had a keen interest in astrology. He built the Jantar Mantar, a group of monuments that allowed him to study the constellations of stars in the sky. The Humayun Mosque is another important monument of this region. This is one of the most peculiar mosques built by the Mughals in India. Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-Jaipur (by road 265 km in 06 hrs) Post breakfast, drive to Jaipur. Stop at the famous Fatehpur Sikri on the way. Reach Jaipur and check in to Oberoi Raj Vilas. Day 7 |
Jaipur After breakfast, we shall proceed for a sightseeing tour of the pink city. The first place to visit is the Amber Fort, situated on a hilltop in the outskirts of Jaipur. It offers panoramic views of the old city. Ascend to the fort riding a ceremonial elephant along a cobbled path which opens into several havelis, step wells, temples, and courtyards. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the beautiful Sheesh Mahal (chamber of mirrors) and Jas Mandir with its floral ceilings and latticed windows. Marvel at the ornately carved silver door at the Shila Devi temple. Continue the sightseeing tour to City Palace. Built in Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architectural styles, the City Palace was home to the rulers of Jaipur since the 18th century. One part of the palace has been converted to the City Palace Museum. The museum houses several items that bear testimony to the rich culture and heritage of Jaipur. Visit the Jantar Mantar, one of the five observatories around West-Central India. It is the largest and the most well-preserved observatory and was built by Jai Singh II in the early 1700s. Jantar Mantar comprises sixteen architectural instruments made of local stone and marble, some of which are still in use. Explore the surreal maze of gigantic geometric shapes at Jantar Mantar. One of the most famous places of Jaipur is the Hawa Mahal. Also known as the “Palace of Winds”, the ornamental pink façade represents a honeycomb. This five-storeyed structure is built of lime and mortar and is decorated with intricate trelliswork and elaborate balconies. It was designed for the free circulation of air. The ornate windows are locally known as jharokhas. The royal ladies would gaze out through the proceedings in the street below. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, it was built by the Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. In the afternoon, enjoy shopping in the beautiful markets of Jaipur. In the evening, visit the Birla Temple, a beautiful monument made of white marble dominating the skyline of Jaipur. The three towers of the temple are symbolic of the three approaches to religion. The carvings on the pillars depict images from the Hindu pantheon along with images of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and St. Francis of Assisi. Enjoy the Aarti, the ritual of lighting of oil lamps. The mesmerizing ceremony is marked by the waving of oil lamps in sweeping circular motions in front of the deity by the priest and is accompanied by holy chants and drums. Day 8 |
Jaipur This day is free for you to relax at the hotel and enjoy shopping in the bazaars of Jaipur. Tourists from all across the globe flock to Jaipur to shop for local handicrafts, silken shawls, pashminas, gemstones, jewelry, and the like. Different parts of the city specialize in different items like womenswear and accessories in Hot Pink, luxurious scarves and pashminas in Andraab, artisan-made objects in Anantaya, and the like.
