Day 1 |
Arrival at Colombo Colombo to Galle (Amangalla) Reach, and our representative will meet you at the airport Drive to Galle Galle: Galle, it is a gem. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this historic town is a joy to visit on foot, an endlessly exotic old trade port filled with majestic Netherlands-colonial houses, ancient mosques, and temples, elegant mansions, and museums. Founded by the Dutch, Galle 's center is the Castle, a walled fortress enclosed by the ocean on three sides, starting in 1663. Other attractions in Galle that are a part of your Sri Lanka tours include the natural harbor of the city, the National Maritime Museum, St. Mary's Cathedral, the Galle Shiva temple, and Amangalla; the luxury hotel of historic heritage. You can also visit the Galle Lighthouse, Peace Pagoda, and the Museum of Historic Mansions.
Reach, and we will transfer you to your hotel Amangalla in Galle.
Amangalla: Reborn as a heritage hotel in 2004, Galle Fort 's grand dame once welcomed as the New Oriental Hotel throngs of travelers from globe-crossing P&O steamers. Today, with its mix of antique fittings, centuries-old charm, and new flourishes, this elegant retreat continues to attract sophisticated comfort-seekers. The mature garden of the resort dates back to the construction of the house in the 1860s, and the UNESCO-protected fort is the best-preserved colonial fortification in Asia. Sail from nearby Mirissa harbor to see blue whales off the Sri Lankan coast from December to May. A short way from Amangalla along the coast is the city of Ambalangoda, the center of the mask-making tradition of Sri Lanka that you can witness. Explore the markets before taking a cooking lesson in their garden pavilion with one of Amangalla's chefs.
Check-in and relax Rest of the day at leisure Overnight will be at Galle. |
Day 2 |
Amangalla - Galle Breakfast will be at the hotel ( The stay offers magnificent sights and a variety of food options). Visit the old Galle Fort in Sri Lanka’s 4th biggest town. The afternoon is the best time to explore the Fort. The 16th century Fort is a world heritage site, spanning over 90 acres. It is Asia’s best-preserved and largest surviving fort built by European occupiers. It was originally built by the Portuguese in 1588 but was later extended to its present glory by the Dutch in 1663. The best way to soak up the charm of the Old City and to get our bearings is by taking a stroll around the thick granite walls of the fort. This one hour circuit is most enjoyable at sunrise and sunset as the air is cool and the light is low. The real allure is found in simply wandering through its warren of narrow alleys and side streets, replete with colonial homes with original archways and verandas, 18th-century churches, mosques, museums, and impressive art galleries and clothing boutiques.
Overnight will be at Galle |
Day 3 |
Amangalla-Galle The day will be at leisure. You can know more about the palatial hotel you're staying at. It is Sri Lanka's most popular and well reviewed stay. Overnight will be at Galle. |
Day 4 |
Galle to Amanwella-Tangalle After breakfast proceed to Tangalle. Reach, and check in to the beautiful Amanwella. Enjoy the rest of the day lazing on the beach with a drink in your hands.
The setting of Amanwella is a country standing, arranged on the palm-shaded hillside of a secluded, crescent-shaped bay, shared in part with the local fishing community. Large boulders seal the shoreline to the east while palm trees tower high above a sandy grove backed by thick tumbling vegetation toward the west. Amanwella is one of the Top 10 Beach Hotels in Ampersand and Top 10 Aman Resorts in Asia. It also has one of the top 10 swimming pools we have. Set in a mature coconut grove overlooking a crescent-shaped beach, Amanwella lies on the picturesque south coast of Sri Lanka, close to the fishing village of Tangalle. A boutique beachfront hotel, Amanwella has 30 suites each with its own small diving pool and terrace. |
Days 5 - 7 |
Amanwella–Tangalle Spend your days in paradise enjoying the beach. Spend some quiet time taking in the sun, and sit back and gaze out into the beautiful blue waters of the ocean. Tangalla marks the dividing line between the picture-perfect tropical coves that occupy most of the southern coastline and the narrow, sea- and wave-lashed beaches that occupy the island's southeast. There are many beach areas within this long strip of sand, each with a distinct character. Here Medaketiya Beach is a long sandy beach that stretches northeast from the town and is lined with both good and bad budget guesthouses and cafés. Marakolliya Beach is practically a continuation of Medaketiya Beach, but much further out of the city, the beach here is absolutely amazing. An apparently endless tract of soft sand, backed by palms, tropical flowers, and mangrove lagoons, unfurling along the coast. Overnight will be at Tangalle. |
Day 8 |
Amanwella-Tangalle to Colombo / Departure After breakfast drive back to Colombo Airport in time for the connecting departure flight back home. |
