A national park held up on the North Himalayas in the Garhwal locale of Uttarakhand; Valley of Flowers National park is one of the most incredible destinations for a vacation in India. The valley is home to the astounding endemic flowers along with several endangered animals like Musk Deer, Snow Leopard, Asiatic Black catlike, Red fox, Blue sheep, and Brown bear. The beauty of the valley beholds all its visitors from throughout the world.
The Valley of Flowers remains open for visitors from June till the beginning of October. The best time to best, however, is between July and August since the flowers are in full bloom. It is a bliss to trek in the Valley of Flowers National Park over the flora carpets, spotting the rare and endangered animals with the view of the snow-bested Himalayas in the background, something for which it is notable.
Day 1 |
Beginning of the Trek The trek begins in the historical city of Haridwar, where the ride to Govindghat will start. If the time permits, the trekkers can get a chance to see Rudraprayag and Devprayag on this full-day ride alongside the Alaknanda River. The guests will take lunch on the way and will reach Govindaghat by evening. The guests can call it a day and rest; it will keep them fresh for the journey ahead. |
Day 2 |
From Auli to Ghangaria Grab breakfast early in the morning as the trek towards Ghangharia begins at 7.am. After trekking for about 7km, the guests will get to see the snow-clad mountains and a 250 mt high astounding waterfall. On moving a little further, one can witness the gorgeous high-altitude KagBhusandi Lake and many more enchantingly scenic spots. The lunch will be at one of the restaurants or food joints near the beautiful Pushpavati River. The first 9km of the trek will be over on reaching the river.
With a total altitude gain of about 1.5 km, the next 4 km will be slightly steeper. The guests will reach Ghangaria in the evening and relax for some time, after which they will visit the waterfalls close by and spend the rest of the late-evening bird watching and then call it a day. |
Days 3-4 |
Trek to the Valley of Flowers This day starts early as well, with breakfast and trek at 7 a.m towards Valley of Flowers National Park. The experience of entering this famous World Heritage Site, with the splendid scenic view, the birds sweetly chirping around, and the rhythm of the gushing, flowing water leaves everyone bewildered.
The river bed of the Pushpavati river that brilliantly adorns the pink shade of the colony of flowers commonly called River Beauty is a sight worth seeing. The guests can have lunch on the Pushpavati river bed, 6 km away from Ghangaria.
Also, these two days of the trek will go on in a similar schedule, exploring the gloriousness of this surreal park. |
Day 5 |
Trek to the Hemkund Sahib Like the past couple of days, this day starts early with an early breakfast. The guests will trek towards the Sri Hemkund Sahib today. The Hemkund lake, at a stature of 13,500 ft above sea level, is a euphoric sight to watch and is sure to bring peace. The guests get to see the flowers like Vajradanti, Brahma Kamal, and Blue Poppy on this 6km steep trek. |
Day 6 |
Trek to Auli covering Pulna It is an early start to the day again; the trek begins at 6 AM towards Pulna, where the guests will have lunch. After this, a great road adventure towards Badrinath will begin during which the guests will find the chance to see waterfalls and rivers along the way. The next target destination will be Mana village, the location of Saraswati’s starting point.
Subsequent to this, the guests can rest at their lodgings. |
Day 7 |
Badrinath The seventh day of the trip, being the last one will start with an early departure from Auli, the guests can have breakfast on the way to Haridwar. The delightful trip to Valley of Flowers National Park comes to a beautiful end when the guests reach Haridwar in the evening. |
