Piuval is a classic northern-Pantanal lodge zone — open country rich in hyacinth macaws, giant anteaters and capybaras.

In the open grasslands and woodlands of the northern Pantanal, Piuval offers superb general wildlife: hyacinth macaws, giant anteaters, capybaras, marsh deer, coatis and a wealth of birds, by day and on night drives. It is a strong all-round Pantanal base, complementing the jaguar rivers to the south.

The wet season — green and flooded, with fewer roads open.

Like the rest of the Pantanal, best in the dry season; the wet season floods much of the habitat.
