This policy explains how Wild Voyager looks after the personal information you share when you enquire, book, travel, buy a product, or browse wildvoyager.com.
For journeys, the company you contract with is Wild Voyager LLC (99 Wall Street #848, New York, NY 10005, United States), and it is the main controller of your information. Our group offices — Wild Voyager Pvt Ltd (New Delhi, India) and Wild Voyager Ltd (Kenya) — process your information as part of planning and running your trip. For products bought in India, Wild Voyager Pvt Ltd is the controller.
For anything about this policy or your data, write to [email protected].
When you enquire or book, you give us details such as your name, email, phone number, country and travel preferences. To make travel arrangements we may also need passport or identity details, dates of birth, dietary or medical notes relevant to your trip, emergency contacts, and the names and details of others travelling with you — and you confirm you have their permission to share these with us.
When you pay, the transaction is handled by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment but never see or store your full card details.
When you use the website, we collect basic technical information automatically — such as your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use the site — through cookies and similar tools. We also keep records of your communications with us.
Some information you give us — for example medical or dietary notes, or details needed for visas — may be sensitive. We collect it only where it is needed to plan your trip safely and to meet legal or supplier requirements, we use it only for those purposes, and we share it only with the people who need it to look after you. Where your local law requires your explicit consent for this, your giving us the information and asking us to arrange your trip is treated as that consent.
We use your information to: plan, quote, book and run your journey; process your payments and keep proper financial and tax records; meet legal, border, safety and insurance requirements; contact you about your booking and respond to your questions; keep you and others safe during travel; sell and deliver any products you order; prevent fraud and protect our business; and improve our website and services.
Where the law requires a legal basis for using your data, we rely on: performing our contract with you; your consent (for example for marketing); our legitimate interests in running and improving our business; and meeting our legal obligations.
Guides and staff often take photographs and video during journeys, and these help us show and promote our work. We may use images and footage from your trip — including images that show you — in our marketing, on our website and social channels, and in our materials, unless you tell us in writing that you would prefer we did not. To opt out, at any time, simply email [email protected] and we will respect that.
With your consent, or where the law otherwise allows, we may send you occasional updates about journeys, offers and stories we think you will find interesting. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message, or by writing to [email protected]. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential messages about a trip you have booked.
To deliver your journey we share only the information necessary with the suppliers involved — hotels, camps and lodges, airlines and charter operators, guides and drivers, national parks and reserves, and insurers. We also share information within the Wild Voyager group of companies, and with the payment, technology and professional service providers who help us run the business.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a traveller or others. We do not sell your personal information.
Because we operate across the United States, India, Kenya and the destinations you travel to, your information will be transferred and stored in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where we do this, we take reasonable steps to protect your information and to put appropriate safeguards in place between our group companies and suppliers.
We keep your information for as long as needed to run your trip and our relationship with you, and after that for as long as we must for legal, tax, accounting and insurance reasons. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your information — including to access it, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent, and ask for a copy in a portable form. Residents of the UK and EU (under GDPR / UK GDPR), India (under the DPDP Act), and certain US states (for example California under the CCPA) have specific rights under their own laws.
To exercise any right, write to [email protected]. We will respond within the time your law requires. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Our website uses cookies and similar tools to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking some may affect how the site works.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is ever completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we work to keep your information safe and to deal properly with any breach.
Our services are not aimed at children booking on their own. Where children travel, they do so as part of a booking made by a responsible adult, who is responsible for the information provided about them.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the date it was last updated shown below.
For any question about this policy or your personal information, write to [email protected], or by post to Wild Voyager LLC, 99 Wall Street #848, New York, NY 10005, United States (for products, Wild Voyager Pvt Ltd, FF-12A, Omaxe Square, Jasola District Centre, Mathura Road, New Delhi 110025, India).
