Nimbokrang is northern Papua's great lowland birding forest — where the twelve-wired and lesser birds-of-paradise display.
The forests around Nimbokrang are the lowland counterpart to the Arfak's mountains — the place for the twelve-wired bird-of-paradise at its display pole, the lesser bird-of-paradise in the canopy, and a long list of lowland specialities including jewel-babblers, pittas and the elusive Pesquet's parrot.
